Up bright and early for the first visit to the Gym. Sun is shining and 32 degrees and calm seas forecast.
After 35 minutes on the running machine I returned via the bar. I did not realise it opened so early in the morning (something to note for the future). Hank was there propping up the bar, or it could have been the other way round? Early morning stiffner in his hand, another day of dedicated testing of the Seabourn bar staff had started in earnest.
Today was a lazy day on board interrupted only by more food, more drink and the daily putting competition. Despite our very best efforts John D, Jan and I were soundly beaten by the army of American golfers who clearly spent most of their time in Florida perfecting their putting skills.
For those who like cruising we can recommend Seabourn, however, a minor irritant for the Woods, Pardons and Daveys was the intermittent delivery of hot water to our showers. Not to worry Herr Pardon was on the case, our leader had logged the problem and under instructions the Woods and Daveys had separately logged the problem. We were not surprised to find out that our leader had procured a face to face meeting with the Hotel Kommandant ( A second captain on board who looks after the passengers). What followed was feverish activity by engineers culminating in visits to our rooms by engineers to test the temperature of the water. Unfortunately, I had just finished a shower and had no clothes on when the engineer knocked on the suite door requesting access to test the water temperature. Sue desperate to get the shower fixed bundled me into the walk in wardrobe shutting the door, instantly plunging the wardrobe into darkness. I waited, naked and dripping wet for ten minutes in darkness for the engineer to complete his tests.
Ironically although the water problem has been fixed we have all spent so much time out in the sun that we can only take lukewarm showers L

Dave Sweet Hello All, Love your silly hats by the way. You all look like something from Hong Kong Fuey. Oh to spend so much time out in the sun, you should worry. Since you lot have been away the mercury has hardly got into positive territory, and it feels like the country is in the grip of an Ice Age. Forget all about running, just walking and standing up has been a challenge, and that has nothing to do with testing out bar staff, Seabourn or otherwise. Tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday we will visit the Hoop to help keep the wheels of Michelle's business well oiled, and to try out the new menu's, and will try and catch up with my mate Steve about his running progress. As I type a feint orange ball has just appeared in the sky, welcome my friend. Sorry to hear about your pathetic efforts on the putting green, obviously the newly aquired down time of JD has not been put to good use yet then. You all need to keep your Mashi Nibblick more upright and avoid the Yips. Keep swinging, Dave
Debbie All I can say is that we are all grateful you've not posted any pictures to back up the hilarious shower story. Debbie
Louise Well said debbie, we are quite pleased about that too! Louise
