Dave This is the biggest pirate of them all stealing a picture of our junk. Shiver me timbers it is Mrs Davey with the camera and John acting like a cheshire cat
re: photo from 06 February 2012Dave Sweet Morning All, I was wondering where you had got to with your updates. Thought maybe you had all been strung up by the Thai's! I fully concure with all you said about Bangkok and the Temple and the Budha, as saw all of this and more in '96. That Brisdge affair looked pretty spectacular. When you get back to blighty you will no doubt wonder what all the fuss has been about these past two weeks as temperatures are now above normal for the time of year and all but a few really shady places are clear of snow. By the way, the average daytime temperature for the first 10 days in February was -0.3 degrees, so enoy what you have left of 28 degrees plus. On a different note I have booked us all in for the next available BYO on March 23rd. The Sweets are in the chair that evening with the Champers, assuming you are not all champered out of course. Enjoy your last day, the airports and the flights home. PS - I bet Herr Team Leader Pardon did not indulge in any of that 6.2% stuff at lunch time. A glass of water for him no doubt.
re: Day 11 BangkokLouise Well said debbie, we are quite pleased about that too! Louise
re: Day 4 All at Sea cruising towards Da NangDebbie All I can say is that we are all grateful you've not posted any pictures to back up the hilarious shower story. Debbie
re: Day 4 All at Sea cruising towards Da NangElla Loving the blogs Dave!! Getting very excited about visiting Vietnam in November now! Oh and everyone in the office looked at me like I was insane when I burst out laughing at the thought of Sue hiding you in the wardrobe!!! Say cheers to Hank from me - he sounds like a legend! xx
re: Days 8 Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon)Dave Sweet Hello All, Love your silly hats by the way. You all look like something from Hong Kong Fuey. Oh to spend so much time out in the sun, you should worry. Since you lot have been away the mercury has hardly got into positive territory, and it feels like the country is in the grip of an Ice Age. Forget all about running, just walking and standing up has been a challenge, and that has nothing to do with testing out bar staff, Seabourn or otherwise. Tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday we will visit the Hoop to help keep the wheels of Michelle's business well oiled, and to try out the new menu's, and will try and catch up with my mate Steve about his running progress. As I type a feint orange ball has just appeared in the sky, welcome my friend. Sorry to hear about your pathetic efforts on the putting green, obviously the newly aquired down time of JD has not been put to good use yet then. You all need to keep your Mashi Nibblick more upright and avoid the Yips. Keep swinging, Dave
re: Day 4 All at Sea cruising towards Da NangVivienne Great to see you all enjoying yourselves dont worry about us here digging our way out of 8 inches of snow.Minus 9 last night and just returned from the school playground after the fire alarm going off!!!! Rose Anne Wendy Nicola and cathy send their regards and they are enjoying the pictures - We love the hats!!
re: Day 3 Halong BayDebbie Enjoying seeing all the 'photos and getting the news - though seeing you sitting in the sun with champers in hand is a little hard to take given our weather. Great hats by the way! Bet you didn't get those in Bluewater, Bridget. We had a great night at Peter & Gail's on Saturday. They did a tapas meal which was absolutely delicious. The snow arrived during the evening but didn't look too bad from the back patio but then Peter went to look out of the front and advised us to make tracks - literally.Obviously the back garden is quite sheltered and what looked like a light dusting of snow was by this stage actually 2 or 3 inches worth and still coming. Fortunately we had come prepared to walk home which was just as well as there were no cabs. Peter kindly lent me a hat as I had not thought to bring one. Off we set into the blizzard and while I was very grateful for it as it had very cosy ear flaps it was at least 9 sizes too big for me and the brim came down to my nose! A combination of the driving snow all the way down Jackson's and Greens Farm Lane, and the hat, meant I could just about see 6 inches in front of me. There's still quite a bit of snow lying around , but the roads are mostly clear though it is due to freeze tonight so tomorrow's journey to work will be entertaining. Take care in the sunshine - you aren't used to it! Love Debbie
re: Day 3 Halong BayElla Wow! Come on Chris, get your ID book out and tell us what it is! Can't wait to hear what HCMC is like, looking forward to lots of pics! Try to think of us here in the snow and ice whilst you are supping your champers! :o) xx
