After the flight from Punta Arenas to Santiago we stayed for one night at an airport hotel which was slap bang opposite the airport terminal. Arriving into Punta Arenas and making the short walk to the hotel in the town made you realise that you had acquired 'sea legs' as everything seemed a little bit floaty! Punta Arenas is the End of the World Chilean style and like Ushuaia it does feel remote, in fact there is no road linking Punta Arenas to the rest of Chile as you have to go via Argentina for around 1,000km north to head back into Chile.
