A long day travelling today crossing the Pyrenees from Spain and into France via various long tunnels. It seemed a good idea to take the scenic route and the scenery was breath taking but it meant a very long journey. At times we felt like James Bond and at other times scarily like a scene from the Italian job as we went up and down.
After a lovely lunch in the hills our dear friend Serena (the Sat Nav) seemed to have a bit of a break down taking us down country lanes so we had to resort to old fashioned methods of map reading- quite a novelty. Finally after many motorway miles we ended up in Carcasonne which looks like a Disney film set but everyone speaks French. After a quick dip in the pool we wondered up into the medieval city for supper and a rather nice bottle of Minervois Rose.
