Hello everybody! Thank you all for your messages! Make sure you keep them coming!
Were still having a brilliant time, but its been an eventful week! Last you heard we had just arrived in Krabi, Ao Nang. Unfortunatley the weather wasn't great and the waves on the beach were enormous! John was in his element, the big kid! (Until he swallowed the sea!) So, because there was not too much to do where we were, and couldn't go on the boat trip we planned, we decided to move on to Phuket. However, not before we decided to go to the Tiger cave which was near where we were staying. The place consists of different shrines for both Buddists and Muslims, and is full of naughty monkeys! The 'piece de resistance however was a temple that was on top of a mountian. Now I bet your thinking how did they get up to the temple? Well..............you had to climb 1237 steps!!!!!!! And not just small piddly ones, very stepp and very big ones! John (the show off) made it all the way to the top (hence the photos) Hooray! ( He was a quivering wreck when he got down!) Holly however only managed to get half way, 657 steps.
(well shes pround anyway!) We also got blessed by a monk! We are now enlightened beings! Dazed and confused we headed to get our bus to Phuket, only to find that we had left our guide book at the top of the tiger cave!! Talk abour blessed, more like cursed! So we had no idea where we were going or where we were going to stay! Panic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good news is that we made is, nearly in one peice and manged to find a really nice hotel (although we have to climb 4 flights of steps to our room, we can't escape them now!) Were in a place called Patong, which is very loud and full of lady boys! But also some cool bars and a beautiful beach.
We have been a bit poorly (bit of Thai belly) unfortunatly so not got too much to tell from earlier ij the week. we have been on two boat trips however, one to James bond island and one to a tiny island called Ko Nai.
James Bond island was ok, pretty because its in a national park but a bit too toristy. We also dis some canoeing through some caves, now that was very cool! We also visited a floating village. Its literally floating on a river! It had a school, a church and even a hospital!
The second trip we ve been on (today) is a tiny isalnd called Ko Nai, and it was by far the most idillic place we have been so far (as you can see by the photos!) We sunbathing and snorkelled on white sandy beaches and crystal blue sea, pure paradise! The snorkelling was amazing. We saw hundreds of different types of fish and coral, and we've got photos to prove it. But you'll have to wait till we get home to see them! We also fed the fish, we never knew that fish had teeth till then, and we've got bites on our legs to prove it!
So, now we move again to the beautifaul island of Phi Phi! The weather is picking up agian now because the monsoon has finished. Thank God, because when it rains here you certianly no about it!
Speak to you all soon!
Lots of love, hugs and kisses,
Holly and John
