Hi everyone! As promised were keeping you more updated than ever before, hope you appreciate the efforts we make to keep yuo entertained!
Well we're more than half way to sydney, at least in terms of distance. Weve been very busy backpackers since we last blogged. Our first big adventure was our sailing trip around the whitsundays, something you apparantly have to do when your on the east coast. It was definately one of the best things weve done here, we had 2 nights on board the S V Whitehaven skippered by the lovely if slightly wierd Rick. We survived the whole thing without sea sickness so well done us! After 3 weeks of being so close to it, we finally snorkelled the great barrier reef and it was amazing. The romance of the whole affair was slightly diminished by the fact we had to squeeze ourselves into lycra "stinger suits" every time we got in the water. But I suppose its better to look like an idiot than get killed by a jellyfish! We saw just about every marine animal that teh reef has to offer, little fish, giant fish, jelly fish, sting rays,  coral, turtles and even had a bit of a close encounter with a reef shark.
After a night of partying with the boat crew in Arlie beach we headed south again on our first over night bus to Hervey bay and then hit Fraser Island. Our guide for Fraser, Chris was channeling the spirit of steve Irwin and it made for a very entertaining few days. Again it wasa bit of a marine life-fest, more sharks, stinrays and dolphins, even a few huge eagles and kites. We encountered the spiders somewhat less enthusiastically. On day 2 we hiked over a massive sand dune to get to a little lake, if theres one thing that can be said for Fraser Isand..its very very sandy.
Now youre all up to date with our adventures were off south again to Noosa to experience the wonder that is australia zoo, so expect many more animal-based stories, we know you love them!
