Hi Guys,
Sorry it has been a while since I wrote to you, it has been quite hectic. When we came back from the jungle I had three days in spanish school until my next departure to Puerto Lopez.
School has been really intense, and my head has been abit cabbaged by all the verbs with past present and you name it, plus getting used to a new teacher but it has been good and I can now hold a proper conversation! Yay although I do stumble a bit! Last week we went to another football match and watched Liga play, it was a draw at 2-2 so was a more exciting match.
On thursday a friend and I went to Puerto Lopez, it was a 12 hour bus ride in the night leaving Quito at 8 and arriving in Puerto Lopez at 8 the next day, we were met of the bus by a very friendly taxi man with his little tuctuc. He took us to book a trip to see the whale and to Ilsa de plata, then to our hotel and even arranged for us to go sight seeing with him the next day.
The whale trip was amazing, they were really close to the boat, as they come to the equator to mate and give birth, they were very playfull, one even jumped out of the water and I managed to get it on film, trying to put it on here but having difficulty. It was a dream come true as we werent with loads of tourists it was just our boat and there was only 10 of us!
We went to Isla de Plata and had a walk, it is similar to the galapagos islands and is a national park, the birds were so familiar wit people they didnt move when we walked past. It was great and am really looking forward to going to the Galapagos now.
The next day we toured the coast a bit and relaxed on the beach. We arrived back in Quito on sunday, in which my stomach bug of two weeks took a turn for the worst and I was in bed all day, it didnt help that mini hitler has been hurrendous this week, trying to feed me horrible food when I couldnt eat and giving me a lecture about receiving phone calls from Pete even when she is not paying for them! Hocan the guy who is our helper here took me to hospital last night. I was really worried at first as you hear so horror stories but the hospital was a private one and really nice I was there for 3 hours and seen by 2 doctors who examined me and then gave me loads of medicines to take. Today I feel much better.
I have 3 days left of spanish now and I feel I am really ready to leave Quito and go on my next adventure....to the galapagos!! yay I leave next monday, so we are going to a place called Banos for the weekend, apparantly a vocano has been erupting for the last couple of weeks there so it will be really cool to see. Dont worry mum have checked and it is safe to travel.
Just want to say a big thankyou to Pete for all his help over the last two weeks, I have been really homesick as I have been ill and he has been a great help, love you mr!
Just to show that I have learnt something....here we go...
