Hi Guys,
I am in Banff at the moment I have been here since yesterday, the tour is going really well, from my last blog we went to a splace called Moose Jaw in which we stayed in a "trailor" for the night, this was basically a static caravan and it was luxury!! There were so many beds and living rooms! We had a hill billy party in which we all got dressed up (check out the photos), it was a really funny night we even had a baby doll called Kfed named after his daddy!! Hee hee, we had a lovely meal in the night and got to use all the facilities.
From here we travelled to a place called Medicine Hat, in which we had a bit of a medical emergency, not me, no worries, but Laura and Kerry, Laura has been diagnosed mumps and so we are on red alert incase anyone else gets it and we have to go into quarantine and stop the tour and Kerry tore ligaments in her elbow! Other than that we are all fine and went to see the worlds largest metal teepee - that is all they have here!!
The tour hired a limousine for us for the night which was great fun, it had leather seats and we drove around drinking sparkling wine (cant afford the good stuff). I felt about 14! It was really funny. Then we went for a really nice meal and then back to camp.
I am now in Banff for three days, we had a free day today and have walked from camp down to the Bow River, through the forest, which was really nice. We had a wander around town, it is very small with alot of touristy shops and outdoor clothing shops but it is very pretty. We then hiked up Tunnel Mountain, the views were really good at first but then the clouds decended and the rain came!! Just drying off now!
Last night Laura and I had a wonder around camp and we saw a couple of wild deers having dinner (check out photos and video!), then we spotted a cyote that had just killed something on the road and was munching away, it was really good.
We are off to Lake Louise tomorrow so really looking forward to that. I am really enjoying this tour, everyone on it is a great laugh and we all get along really well. Doing this travelling thing is quite liberating really, feel like I am conquering the world, and as I am with people it is not so daunting, but if I do want to be on my own I have the option too! Of course I am missing everyone like crazy (and especially a certain some one! Roll on Oz!). I am learning alot about myself and would recommend this to everyone! Although maybe not Canada at this time of year as some parts are still freezing!! Hee Hee!
Well I am doing white water rafting on Friday, Paraglading on Saturday and Glacier Ice walking on Sunday so if you havent heard from me I have either drowned, crashed from a great height or fell down a crevase on the glacier (which is in Jasper NP and Yoho NP - incase you need to send a search party!!) Hee hee only joking, although I am quite nervous about doing them but am over coming my fears!!
Miss you all loads, keep in touch.
Love Me!
