God bless time zone changes. I love waking up happy and rested early in the morning. We had a simple breakfast on the porch, overlooking the ocean. Behind us were these escarpments that line the coast around here. First off was a trip to Nan Tien in Wollongong. It is the largest Buddhist monastery in the Southern Hemisphere. The architecture is amazing and it is obvious that great thought went into it. The detail leaves you in awe. Nan Tien is grand in size as well, there were multiple buildings and a pagoda that was maybe 8-10 stories high. They are pretty cool, they let you walk into the halls and temples. I also saw the biggest bell and drum of my life. The other major event in Wollongong was the lookout from one of the escarpments over Wollongong, Thirroul, and several other towns.
The afteroon was laid back. Boxy took me to the Bowling Club for a couple of beers and horse races. They have a TAB, betting station, in alot of the bars and you can bet all hours of the day, or they can as I have no money for that. Then I took the bus up about 10 km and spent the evening walking back along the road. Beautiful, ocean on one side and escarpments on the other. I was so peaceful and nice after the craziness of the fall. I called into the RSL (Return Services League aka VFW) in Coledale for a beer, but other than that I didn't talk to a soul over 4 hours and it was glorious.
The night was a nonevent. I studied and headed for bed.
