Wow. Went to machu picchu today and it was spectacular! Left the hostel in Aguascalientes at 4:30am and made our way to machu picchu, we were so lucky with the weather and visability was excellent. Treked up to the sun gate and back (hard work) and then walked back to Aguascalientes.....I have never walked down so many steps. Train, bus and taxi back to orphanage...legs are killing and so so tired but had a brilliant couple of days. Over and out Han x

Wow. Had such an amazing week so far! Been too busy to be blogging so having to do a quick synopsis.... Four more volunteers arrived Which is really good as there's quite a few of us now, had good times with the kiddies.....seem to be doing the hokey coley several hundred times a day and playing donde esta Maurice with the sock monkey made by Aunty Vonny, they love him, took the girls to a park with a huge slide and took the boys to another one, more terrifying ...

Had a Spanish lesson first thing then off to the supermarket to buy ingredients fir the meal that me and Julie cooked for everyone at the orphanage. Spent the afternoon preparing the carbonara and cheesecake and then ate with everyone, they loved it! Unfortunately the cheesecake didn't set so going to have that Tomo! Over and out Han x

Woke up with a headache! Managed to get out of bed though and felt fine...just as well as had promised to make bracelets with the children today. Had lunch with the children, rice with a vegetable patty type thing, was lovely....I do miss aromat though! We all sat at the table and made bracelets and necklaces with the things I brought over, they loved the charms and the two women who work here, delphina and romika enjoyed it too and made some, delphina made me...

After our lunch went back to the orphanage and helped to carry bed frames etc out to the street to be taken to the new orphanage that they are putting together, was quote a work out! The altitude does make you short of breath pretty quickly but starting to get used to it now. Booked a trip to machupicchu for next week, Julie and I are going next thurs (19th) on the first night we stop at aquas calientes which is the hot spring so taking my swim stuff, very exci...
