I've just said goodbye to my dad which i think was one of the hardest moments in my life. I know that I said goodbye to my family in the airport which was also hard. But I never really realized that I was leaving before my dad left just now. I've always been very close to my family and they've always been there to help me when I needed them to. They've confronted me when I've done something stupid, they don't agree and set questionmarks to most things I say, but only to force me to argument better and challenge me. They've loved me, and I know it, and I've loved them. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. You can surely say that they've all been a part to prepare me for this moment, and I just want to thank them all. My brother Lars, my sister Lea, my mother Lisa and my dad Hans. I love you all, and I wouldn't be able to do all this without you guys! I love you so much!
But now I'm "finally" at IMG, and getting ready to work hard with the team. I've only met a few of my teammates, but so far, I can tell it's going to be a great year, with a lot of great football! Right now I live in C-dorm where there's room for 10 guys, but there's 7 of us here now. Most of them are on vacation though, so for now, it's only me, Joe (Canada, TE) and Eli (Minnesota, OL).
We have 2 workout sessions a day. The first session is at 9AM, where we work football, and the next session is a mixture of speed and strength work at 2:30 PM. I've been solving academic and insurance stuff with my dad and IMG today, so I'm only attending weight and speed training this afternoon.
IMG is a "sports concentrated" academy. You can't attend if you don't participate in a sport. They have 52 tennis courts, a couple of golf fields, 2 football practice fields, 4 basketball courts (indoor and outdoor), Lacrosse, a football/track stadium, a weightroom which is college worthy, and much more. So there's everything you need to exceed at your sport, and I can't wait to get started.
So the facilities are great and they expect you to do a lot of hard work, and they also test you (football wise). Our schedule is very tough; we're playing a team from New York which will travel down here to play, we'll travel to Texas to play against a team there, we'll play against Trinity Christian who was 3A state champions last year, and the season opener against Godby which will be very tough. But all these teams that we're playing only makes me want to work even harder! As I said before… I can't wait to get started!
