We woke up to the coldest morning we have had, yet. It was well in the 20s. There was a frosty ice layer on our tent. The sun was shinning and there was a thick layer of fog on the lake which made for a crisp and beautiful scenery.
We got up, had some breakfast and started packing up. Even though it was probably in the 30s by now the sun was shinning and I was taking layers off while I was packing up the stuff we had in the tent. And the layer of frost on the tent started melting and pouring water into the tent so we had to get the rain fly off quickly and I dried up the water in the tent and aired out our sleeping bags and air mattresses. We took our time packing up because the lake and mountains were so nice. We ended up leaving at noon which is when the campground was closing for the year.
We then made our way up to Cascade Lake by driving on 2 scenic byways. Liam read the map and gave us directions because we did not have cell service. The drive was very scenic and nice until we got to the main road to Cascade Lake and then it got hectic. The west side of Idaho is way more populated. We stopped at Cascade Lake and had lunch at a restaurant on the lake.
Then we drove up to McCall where we were renting an Airbnb home. We arrived around 4:30 and we were all excited to be in a home with chairs, electricity, running water, flushing toilets and showers. I immediately started doing laundry and we all unpacked the car. We had been camping for the last 10 nights so we had the car a bit disorganized.
We fixed dinner at the house with the food we had in the cooler.
Matt and I took showers, relaxed and then went to bed. The boys had a bath when they first arrived at the house because the master bathroom has a large soaking bath and they wanted to play in it. They soaked for a long time but probably needed it.
