Had a fab day at Alton Towers with Mr Hird and the boys.
Day started with the usual Maccy D's breakfast as per any other day out, Dan wolfed his down whilst Jack just tried to mould his in to a Bagel, just Jack!
We headed straight there after that and managed to get there for just after 10am so had loads of time to get all our fave rides in.
Started with Heave Ho, then on to Marauders Mayhem which the kids loved. We hit the Teddy Grabbing Machines as Dan Decided he wanted a Shadow's Teddy from Sonic the Hedgehog, we actually won one and then also won Knuckles all for £2, Bargain. The Arguing then started as Jack decided he wanted Shadow, so as per usual Jack got what he wanted and Dan as per usual let Jack have his own way for the easy life.
We then wandered up to the Aquarium, which was pretty cool and they let you put your hands in with the cleaning shrimps ( like on finding nemo ) and they cleaned your hands and nails, felt very strange, after that we headed up the hill to the rapids, were typically Jack and Shadows got soaked, jack was more upset about the teddy than himself. We took them on the Runaway train hoping that the speed would dry them out but I hate rides like that so nearly broke Dan's hand clinging on to him, lol. The photo they take was laughable, I even had my eyes shut.
Next we headed downhill to Blade, which is basically a pirate ship but I hate those aswell so had my eyes closed all the way through, whilst Gav and the boy's laughed at me. We then took the Skyline up to Burger King were. Our healthy eating habits carried on regardless, not!
Charlie and the chocolate factory was our next stop and Dan and Jack loved this, the shaking and bouncing got kind of embarrassing after awhile. After that we let the boys do the Driving School were Dan proved to be a very conscientious driver even stopping at the traffic lights while Jack just keep his foot down and crashed ALOT!!
Hex was our next stop were we managed to freak the kids out and they were not impressed about the thought of spinning upside down but it was all an optical allusion, so no tears!! The Jumping frog was next to be ticked of our list and was a little bit on the tame side compared to what they had been on. We then headed on to give the adrenaline junkies there next hit were the Enterprise came in, Gav ended up going on seven times as there was no hope of me spinning upside down. Gav also managed to sneak off on to Thirteen the new scary ride and loved it, the boys were not impressed that they to small again. Tears were once again on the menu after the discovery that Dan was to small for sonic spinball and we have had to promise to take him next year when he's 3cm bigger.
The beast was next on the list and I once again went round with my eyes shut. The things we do to please our kids.
We were pretty exhausted after all that so let the boys pick the last two rides which were the Enterprise (surprise, surprise ) and the log flume which we skipped early as didn't fancy getting to wet. So after one last go on the teddy machine and winning Tails we headed back to the car for the journey home ( with a stop at the indian on the way, of course )
Indiana Jones and the curse of the Crystal Skull was the DVD of the evening, whilst we had dinner and then chilled out.
Great day. X
