The day starts a bit slower today as Elye has been up all night coughing so he was in bed with us all night . We decide to go to the Palace of Versailles today ( we don't really know how to get there so we will wing it) it's just the Hiltons today as the Fogartys ( Jeni has a lot of school stuff to do ) so they stay back at the apartment . We reach the train station ask the lady whee to go & she directs us. Once we reach the Eiffel tower stop we get off the RER A line 6 then head to the RER C line ( iris sounds complicated , it is but it's not. The last stop is where the palace is so basically you just follow the tourists , that what seems to be the go everywhere .. We buy are tickets then have a quick lunch on the go & head off on our 5 mins walk .. OMG the palace is HUGE with gold everywhere . We line up at Gate A which takes about 1/2 hour & make our way in. You cannot explain how these stunning places look now , but you try to imagine how it was back then all those centuries ago. You cannot. The marble, the statues, the artwork, the painted ceilings, the king & queens rooms, we are walking through a place where elections over time have been held, where world summits have taken place. The history is overwhelming.. We look out the window & even the gardens are massive. Everything that we see is massive. We are tired really tired as we have walked & walked sober head back in the train , then walk down the Champs Élysées , it's a beautiful street , we then head back home have a bit if a rest then pack our suitcases ready for tomorrow nights flight. Then quickly get ready to go out for dinner & go back to the Eiffel Tower for a look at it in the dark with the lights on. As we turn the corner it looks wonderful, the kids get once again fairy gloss & I get a crepe with chocolate, stawberries & cream.... Yummo...... We then make our way to the viewing point to take photos when all of a sudden the flickering lights come on & the Eiffel Tower is sparkling. It's a memory that I will never forget especially as Elye & Connor were having a photo in front of it at the time ... The most wonderful memory . It's nearly 11.30 pm so we hail a taxi & make our way back to the apartment & it's lights out for our last night in Paris. This city comes alive at night , it's spectacular , & you can never get sick of looking at these amazing monuments , even the Arc de Triomphe is stunning at night.... One last time GOOD NIGHT PARIS...!!!!!
