Day 2 in Hopgarten Austria - we awake to rain this morning it's 6.45 am & Jeni knocks at the door ( remember the Fogartys are in the house next door) to see if we are going to Salzberg today with the weather, we decide yes we should continue with our plans for the day. We meet at 8.20 am & we all walk to the train station. We have to go from Hopfgarten to Worgl then get on another train from Worgl to Salzberg, all up the trips should take just on 2 hours. The trains are expensive over here for a one way 10 minute train from hopfgarten it cost 10 euros for the Hiltons & to Salzberg 169 euros ( approx $200 Aus return ) we don't know why it's so expensive .... Anyway.... We are now sitting on the train boys have their iPods in us parents decide to have a little kip, so I start to type our blog( we don't have WI-FI but we can type up drafts & when we get to Trishas & Charlie's each night we just get on their wifi . I do miss not having technology at the ready). As we travel on our journey the sun is out , hopefully the day will be just like yesterday as it was hot ( roughly 32 degrees it was!)
We arrive in Salzberg we are all hungry for morning tea, the boys start whinging straight away that they are starving & thirsty.... This is the start of the day & the whinging gets worse...Connor has got an infective big toe it looks terrible so he must be in pain ,wearing enclosed shoes wouldn't help as it was pouring rain this morning.. We look for flip flops as they call them over here, if we said thongs no one would have any idea what we are talking about . The only place is Tommy Hilfiger whom stocks them in this area What's the price I ask 40 euros the lady says , Jeni & I nearly keel over but wait she says 30% off today..we buy them & Connor is very pleased that his shoes are off.... The boys keep whinging all day today , I'm hungry, I'm thirsty, I'm tired , well guess what us parents are tired too of the WHINGING......One is bad enough but four..... OMG..... We buy a hop on hop off bus ticket to do the sound of music tour. We see the Vonn Trapp mansion where they fell out of the boat... It was so exciting.... Then we go on to see the glass pavilion , the Do re me steps & also the abbey where maria left to look after the children. Salzberg is lovely very green , scenic but not as architecturally as nice as Prague. A very quiet place indeed , long day however as we have just got back on the train & it's 6.53 pm . Our arrival time back in Worgl is 8.15pm then we change trains & should arrive in hopfgarten at 8.50 pm. Remember it's still light until 10 pm over here in Europe. It's weird, no wonder everyone is so tired . Hopefully tomorrow the boys will be in better moods or it's emirates flights back to Australia for them.. !!!!!
