G'Day! May 1st through the 3rd were spent in Jervis Bay. Jervis Bay is about 2.5 hours south of Wollongong. We were picked up at the train station right near where I live at the University of Wollongong by my our program coordinator, Cam. Once we arrived in Jervis Bay we quickly found our rooms and dropped off our stuff. We went to the Husky Pub for dinner which was the only restaurant in the whole town. After dinner we drove to this remote campsite and had a campfire with some aborigines. We sat around the fire listening to "dream time" stories. They cooked us milo over the fire and play the digieridoo for us! The next morning we went to Hyams Beach which is known for having the whitest sand in the world. We laid out and then went to another beach to have lunch and play beach cricket. After hanging out on the beach for a while we left and went on a bush walk to learn about all of the native flora and fauna of Jervis Bay. After that we went into downtown Jervis Bay and had ice cream! That night, after having kangaroo for dinner, (yes I said kangaroo) we watched a native aboriginal dance ceremony! The next morning, we after breakie we went on a dolphin cruise! We saw about 6 or 7 dolphins - - it was so cool! They were swimming right next to our boat! One set of dolphins we saw were a Mom and baby!!! After the dolphin cruise, we drove back to Wollongong! It was a very short weekend but very eventful and relaxing! Miss and Love all of you! xoxo
