Our day in Prague began with a short walk from our hotel to the bus stop. Unsure of exactly how to get to the Metro station, we inquired of a young fellow in the street. Beds at the Avalon Hotel in Gross Kreutz were good and so was the breakfast. Even had bacon and eggs, in addition to the usual German fare. By 8:30 we were heading south on the Autobahn towards Leipzig. Arrived less than 2 hours later and found a parkade right away near our first destination. That was the Thomaskirche, where J.S. Bach (see pic) conducted the boys choir and composed most of his music from 1723 to 1750. Apparently a new composition for every Sunday...

Today was a travel day and we were able to sleep in a bit later as our flight to Berlin wasn't until 1:15. I intended to go on a short walk to a nearby Starbucks, but ended up going in the wrong direction and had to take a short tube ride to get where I wanted to go and back. A dreary looking day welcomed us at London's Gatwick airport at 6:00 am, but at least it wasn't actually raining. The Gatwick Express train was standing room only as we joined sleepy commuters for the 30 minute ride into the city. At Victoria station we bought our Oyster cards (prepaid transit fares) and transferred to the Underground.
