Even though we have been home for over a week, I haven't finished our trip details. On Tuesday July 13th, we flew from Cairns back to Sydney. We stayed in Sydney for two more days and spent some time walking around the Botanical Gardens which is located near the Opera House. We saw a prehistoric tree. The Wollemi Pine was found not too long ago and was thought to be extinct. We also saw MORE bats. We watched them hanging from the trees for a long time. But, the highlight was the wild cockatoos. The cockatoos (which are gigantic) will land on you! I couldn't believe it! I didn't like it too much, and to top off my experience with the cockatoos, one bit me! They did not bite Sabrina or Mike, they bit me! They were looking for food, and yes, it did hurt!
The next day we went to Manly Beach and there was a surprise swell. The waves were overhead and nice. It was an emotional day because we knew we were leaving the next day. Mike understood my sadness and let me shed a few tears. We all felt sad to be leaving such a beautiful place. Our month in Australia went too fast. We are very lucky to have been able to travel so far and for so long. We want to thank all our family and friends for their help and support. Even though we are back home, my Dad has taught me his Golden Rule..."Never end a trip without planning another."
There will be more travels and stories to be shared with "The H Family Travels."
