Ye'll Take the High Road and I'll Take the Low Road
On our last day in Scotland, we took a Highland tour to Glencoe and Loch Ness. The Highlands are extremely majestic and tranquil. Everything was so beautiful! We took lots of pictures - it's too bad I can't download them - at least not until I get home! GRRRR!
Anyhoo, we drove for several hours to get to Loch Ness. When we got there, we chose to go on a small boat tour of the loch (or "lake" in American English!). This loch is extremely deep - almost 1000 feet to the bottom. There is no way to tell what is at the bottom! It's pitch black down at the bottom so that you cannot even see your hand in front of your face. There are lots of caves and other places where a creature might hide. There's been several scientists and explorers who have studied the "Loch Ness Monster" or Nessie as it is affectionately called, but nobody has been able to prove or disprove that it exists.
Overall, Scotland was really fun and beautiful with a really interesting (yet bloody) history. Even Jude liked it a lot more than she thought she was going to!
