This Bank Holiday weekend, I'm taking my Godson to North West Wales to explore the castles built by Edward I (or rather, ordered by him) after he'd conqured Wales around 1272. However, on route we briefly stopped at Bronllys Castle. All that is left is the keep perched on top of the motte. Tonight, a friend and I ventured into the Pillar Room at Cheltenham Town Hall to see Richard Herring's latest show, Happy Now? The theme of the show is that now he has everything - a wife and baby daughter, is he happy? Or is he worried that it's all going to go wrong? For over two hours, he regaled us with hilarious stories and musings, making for another highly enjoyable evening.

Tonight I found myself in the beautiful little town of Tewkesbury to see Gyles Brandreth at the lovely little Roses Theatre. Hearing Brandreth as a regular on Just A Minute, it is obvious he has a love of language and is very erudite. Tonight was a showcase of his passion for the English Language as he explored the power of words. A generous splattering of humour made for a fascinating and entertaining evening.

Tonight four of us, including my brother and our mother, took advantage of a lastminute.com offer which combined a meal and trip to a West End show for just £24 each. The food portion consisted of a 1 course meal at DSTRKT, just off Leicester Square. The staff were very welcoming and accomodating, and the food very tasty. Then I wandered over to the Town Hall for the All-Star Stand-Up Tour, starring Jarred Christmas, Gary Delaney, Sean Hughes and Pete Firmin.
