Today has been very relaxing. We've only done about 70 miles today.
After a very heralthy oatmeal breaky (x3) we went for a flight over the Grand Canyon in an EC130 (8 seater)!! :)) It was truly awesome! Its just mind blowing the canyon in 1 mile deep. Apparently it would take 45 seconds for an object to hit the bottom if thrown from the South Rim.
After our flight we took the scenic route to Flagstaff arriving aroud 2pm. Flaqgstaff is such a pretty town, and really jumoing as there is a Uni campus here, and its the labour day weekend. We took a few hours just to wander around town and find a late lunch, followed by chilling at our dodgy Motel (Days Inn).
Tonight we've been back into town to do a pub crawl, and what a night! It started off pretty good, chatting with a group of 4 people... a girl Ahsley and hetr Dad, Bob, and a couple Jessica and Dan. And as the night unfoplded it just got weirder. Ashely's Dad, Bob, runs a trucking company so we drove a few hundreed miles in conversation and I steered him aweay from Volvo trucks. Jessica's birthday is Tuesday so it became her unofficial birthday party tonight, which meant shorts (shots). :))). As the conversation unfolded she told me that she'd been to jail twice in the last 2 months... yep, its a good town. :) Once for DUI, and once because she, and I quote, "got a bit upset and started throwing some stuff around the house"... I found outr later from Ashley that this meant she threw a chair through the stained glass window at Dan's house. The kicker was that Dan, her boyfriend, called thew cops and had her arrested. It made for an interesdtign night!
Bob it turns out was an absolute gem... he and I swapped stories and agreed that life is for living, and he loved the fact that we were getting out and actually doing the trip across the US. Kindred spririts is probably the term. :)
We're ow at the Days Inn motel, slightly pissed after a few Vodkas, slightly weirded-out by the Jessica-Dan-Jail thing, but chuckling at how a quite night out could turn into such an unexpected journey. Very funny indeed. But very enjoyable. :)))

Scott Great blog so far. Hope your enjoying your trip, love to be doing what you are right now. Don't stay with Jessica too long, you'll end up in jail or something. Keep safe and keep blogging!
