A slow news day. It was raining so we left Paihia late. Once again the three tapes (Rod Stewart, Kylie and Stevie Wonder) came in handy. We stopped off at McDonalds (our free wifi oasis) in Whangarei, passing Auckland, seeing pretty countryside with the top of the hills covered in cloud on our way to Otorahanga.
Arrived at Cliff and Raewyn's farm at 4.00 pm and immediately cracked open a case of Waikato beer. Chatted and caught up with news. Raewyn is a talented craftswoman and accomplished baker, having run her own cafe in the past. She was in the midst of making Christmas cards and packaging for home made gifts. She had an amazing computer program to help her.
At teatime we had a taste of home made meatloaf with fresh veg, strawberries and cream and freshly made mince pies with beer and wine. Yummy.
