Hey folks!
Thought I would leave a mega quickie on here to say, we are on our way home!
Currently at Hong Kong international airport, we arrived a bit on the early side so we have a few hours to kill. Checked in online, baggage checked in at the train station (yes TRAIN station!) and made it through customs in record time.
We have had a fantastic time here in Hong Kong, we have thoroughly enjoyed a swishy hotel thanks to the parentals. We completely abused our priveledges with the ice machine and free towels!
Hong Kong is one impressive city, the skyline is breathtaking, and one highlight was definitely going to 'the peak'. I have some great photos that I will add later. We have soaked up some Chinese culture with dimsum, honed in our chop stick skills and relaxed by the pool on the 21st floor of the hotel. The weather has been hot and sunny and sticky (as per usual), so we are REALLY looking forward to coming back to a British 'summer' (yeah right!).
We also went to Macau before Hong Kong, and thought it was a very interesting little city. During the day time it is very relaxed and fairly quiet. There are plenty of little lanes to wander round, and we enjoyed the chinese/portugese cuisine. During the night it becomes 'Las Macau' full of gambling and partying. We stayed in a nice little guesthouse (complete with prostitutes which kept coming onto Tom unfortunately!), but obviously it wasnt a patch on Hong Kong!
So I will write on here again, I have missed a couple of weeks out at the end of Vietnam, due to blog issues, and they were probably my fav two weeks. Also I will prob do a llittle summary, more for my sake than any one else's!
We are looking forward to seeing you, and will probably be doing the Bath/Glouster/Southampton/Clapham/Ascot round when we are back (alongside finding a job, argh....!)
byeeeeeeeeee,
Liz and Tom
