A calm Caspian Sea and arrived in Baku at 6am. Anchored off shoe until about 10 then headed into port. Was great to watch the ferry line up the train tracks. Through customs and immigration by 1.30pm. Then the police again wanted to record our names 2pm. Eventually in hotel and out to see the city. Lovely old city to wander around and then to Paul's steak restaurant! Greeat But finished by 8pm!! Everyone ready to pike. I'm ready to walk. Wander old city. People and lights so all good. Find Hilton hotel and French Merlot which delays me an hour or so. Then a bit lost. Couple of young Moslem guys help me get back on track and practice their English. Interested In How they emigrate. People very friendly. And amazingly police actually are helpful not x KGB as in the last 2 Stan's. (Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan).
