Tip No. 6 Keep up to date with your blog entries...

Morning everyone!
As usual...sorry for me being rubbish with keeping up to date with this - I have a little excuse though! For some reason some of my laptop keys decided to stop working in Sri Lanka so I can't really use it at the moment apart from to watch Eastenders with Rach, and this is the first internet cafe I have been into for a while!
So sorry...I'll try harder!

Okay - so we arrived into Vientiane, the capital of Laos for a couple of days before we headed onto Cambodia.
And it is actually a very nice city for once! A few of the other ones we have been to in South East Asia have been very very busy, dirty (as any city) and a lot of people hassling you. Vientiane was very different to this!
We stayed in the French Quater in a nice hotel really near all the markets. There isn't a huge amount to do in the city so on our first day we walked around, did a bit of shopping and went to visit the fountain in the middle of the city.

At night we went to the local market which sells anything you can imagine - clothes, souveigners, food and drink. I had to get Rach out quickly before she spent all her money...hard to do!

From Vientiane we had a 36 hour bus journey to Siem Reap, Cambodia - think we spend more time on buses than in places!! So we decided to get a Laos massage beforehand....one thing led to another....and it ended up with us getting out hair washed and dried by a little Laos woman.
She said that Rachel looked like Maria Carey, and me like Jennifer Lopez...I don't think he English was great??!
