As it was our last day of relaxation we laid in until our stomachs grumbled for breakfast! We had the usual baguette with soft cheese to eat and proceeded to relax in the bar area whilst checking the internet for last minute arrangements. We wanted to enjoy the last hour of the sun before checking out so we went for a stroll along the beach by our resort.
After strolling for about an hour, it began to cloud over which was good timing. We went into our room to shower and pack. We were running short of Vietnamese currency and ordered one last baguette with soft cheese after checking out.
Our taxi turned up just before 2pm and we went straight to the airport. Our flight was delayed by only 20 minutess which was hardly any inconvenience.
When we landed in Ho Chi Minh International Airport, we went to collect our bags and saw that they were showing the Royal Wedding on a TV screen. We watched a few minutes of this then went to look for a place to get a proper meal (as opposed to baguettes with soft cheese) so we only caught a short glimpse of the happy couple at the alter! We walked to the international terminal and found a small food court on the third floor. This had a great variety of food and we were spoilt for choice! Helen had a delicious beef hotpot and Jay had chicken noodle soup (also tasty). Jay still had an appetite for more food so he ordered a BBQ sushi set; this was spot on! The international terminal was so much better than the domestic terminal which seemed very basic and old. The international terminal was still quite small but very clean and modern with glass panel walls either side.
Helen managed to use up the phone card credit and got through to calling her parents before we boarded the plane.
We flew with Shanghai Airlines, there was quite a bit of leg room. The food was not too great but we had a small amount to eat for energy. Our flight was delayed for 20 minutes, it left at 1.50am. We were getting tired and hardly had any sleep.
