Catch a propeller plane to Siem Reap great flight, nice hotel visit F.C.C for cocktails and a bite to eat, plush place,super service. Evening meal is a group affair off to Dead Fish restaurant good grub ,with a couple of crocs to feed downstairs.
Up for a 4.30am start to watch sunrise at Ankor Wat ,magic did a few more wats' (temples) then F.C.C for a lovely supper, soup, steak and cocktails watching the lit riverside in a monsoon downpour ,exquisite!!
Next day off to Ta Prohm temple famous for the Tomb Raider film and few more wats'.On the way back visited the Land Mine Museum.Afternoon trip to a floating river village stop for a drink some of local children were begging and one enterprising lad was floating in a ali bowl with a snake wrapped round him. Crocs in a pen and farmed catfish were just a few of the sights then back off boat to a stilted eaterie with hammocks to watch the sunset with frog,rat,eel and snake on the menu ,the mozzies ate well too!! Back to town stroll round bar street and get caught in another heavy shower have a coffee and tiramasu in Le Tigre du Papiere then Tuc-tuc home .
Yet another early start for a momentous boat journey to Battambang. At the wharf we boarded then more and more people kept grtting on with their bags the boat began to list at that point the captain decided the boat was full, (people on the roof aswell)no life jakets or other contingancy we lurched away toward Tonle Sap Cambodias largest lake.Skirting the northwestern shoreline through fields and mangroves we cut our course the chanel getting narrower and narrower almost too thin the boat, scary all in all a mad one 8 hour journey .Evening go to the Riverside Hotel for a pizza chips and a beer fairly un eventful.
Next day off to Thailand via the 'Dancing Road' ,a mud and pot holed border crossing.The road into Bangkok very smooth and check into our final hotel very smart.
24th floor rooftop terrace with jacuzzi pool (though shut at 6.00pm).Our last meal with the group not that special and a walk down Khoa San Road .
