MONDAY 7TH FEBUARY - ALTRAGRACIA, ISLA DE OMETEPPE
I like to make a move in the morning normally but the ferry wasnt until 7pm so i had a day hanging around Altragracia. Luckily, i had some good company and the day passed quickly chilling out in a cafe. there was a bit of a panic about oo many people trying to get on the ferry so we rushed down there early and brought our first class tickets (all foreigners had to buy first class - Mr L. King would have had a hernia...) at triple the price so i camped out on the upper deck in my sleepíng bag and waiting for people to get over the excitement of a ferry so they would stop treading on me...its gonna be a long night!
TUESDAY 8TH FEBUARY - SAN CARLOS, NICARAGUA/LOS CHILES, COSTA RICA
Luckily the lake was calm last night and we had a smooth crossing. Today has been a tiring "hurry up and wait" day where we docked at 5.30am but had to sit in immigration until the next boat at 10.30am to cross the border. Thanks to the immigrations efficency i just missed my connecting bus in los chiles and nearly got duped by a lying taxi man. Luckily, i double checked and I then only had to wait until 4pm for the bus to caño negro. these are the hard times of solo travelling when your tired, dirty, smelly, sweaty and dont have anyone to rely on so that you can close your eyes for 10 minutes. This game is not all beaches and piña coladas, i was warned. maybe ill go and take my little violin and hide in a corner for now...
