Hey everyone......
Right firstly apologies for my lackof input, the internet here is a actually a little more sparse than i thought.
So since my first post what have i done. I spent 4 nights in total in Ao Nang, we mostly ate, drank and spent time on the beach however we did go sea kayaking one day which was fantastic. It was really rainy but it kinda added to the fun. We saw some rare monkeys and lots of beautiful scenery but it was pretty toughon the arms.
We left Ao Nang and got a questionable bus across the country to a port called Surat Thani. The bus had sprung a leak above Katie and myselfs head, so we had free shower for 3 hours. We then got a boat across to Koh Phangan the island i'm on now.
We had to get a really long taxi from the port to where we are staying, along some beaten roads, the place we are staying is called MAI PEN RAI (whcih means no problem in Thai) look it up, the pictures don't do it justice its absolutely beautiful. We have two large family bungalows between the ten of us, which are lovely. They look out over the sea and you can just hear crashing waves on the rocks below us. We have a lovely beach which is twenty second walk over the rocks from our bungalows. The restaurant is lovely and serves some amazing food, its pretty cheap however we all have our own tab and we're racking up quite a bill cuz its so easy to eat and drink. Hoping that once we are away from the touristy areas we will spend less.
We had a lovely christmas eve meal at another resort and there was a bit of a party on the beach. On christmas day we went exploring the waterfalls behind our bungalows then hired some kayaks and then played games in the sea. We then had some dinner and got a boat to Haad Rin where they hold beach parties. Lots of fun.
We've had a couple of hairy moments where my friend Jamie who is very accident prone fell down he rocks and cut open his leg. I had some stitches i got from work in my first aid kit so we decided that rather than risk a long trip to a hospital i would give it a go, and voila we have a healing wound. It was pretty scary though. I was ill for a couple of days, had a fever and a very dodgy tummy, but feeling better now, think its gonna take a while to acclimatise.
Its been a bit overcast the last couple of days so we have just been playing cards and reading and relaxing. There isn't an awful lot to do as we are so ar away from everything here, but its nice. We have do rice runs to get supplies. It lovely to relax but looking forward to getting to our next destination, which will be another little island called KohTao which is famous for its scuba diving.
Just deciding what to do for New years and we think we are going to keep it low key and have a meal and party on the beach here, as there are ten of us there is not much mneed to venture off.
Anyway hope all is well in England. I hope the snow isn't affecting you all too much.
Lots of love xxxxxxx
