Our final day in Amsterdam was very relaxing. We both slept in, had breakfast and got packed in time for checkout. With our luggage stowed in the hotel's closet, we headed off for one last walk around Amsterdam. Since the Cat Museum was closed on Mondays...go figure... We took a quick foray back to the red light district to take a picture of something we both saw, but didn't photograph. Set in the brick pavers in the grounds of the Old Church is a small brass .... Um...Plaque? Of a hand grabbing a naked boob. Something tells me that you won't find that on the grounds of even the most liberal of churches in America. Anyway, we beelined it back out, avoiding the gaze of those poor prostitutes who got stuck on the Monday Morning shift. We walked for an hour through some mostly residential streets, enjoying the nice day and the quiet canal lined neighborhoods.
We took a cab to the ship, got on board and unpacked. While Heather read and took a nap, I sat on our veranda and watched the shore go by as we snaked our way out of the canal to the North Sea. One cool thing to watch was when we went through the lock and dam... I've been on a boat that's been through one before, but never on a ship this big. The gates on either side of the ship were so big that they also acted as bridges for cars.
Well, we've both had our first full meal on the ship (sooooo good), and looking forward to a good night's rest. Tomorrow is a sea day, so we'll get to take it easy (ok, it's not like we have had it rough). Thanks for reading!

Fran Always exciting to hear of your day. You must have wifi on the ship. Amazing. Have you met any interesting people yet? Love the photo in front of the church.
Brian W. Enjoy! I'll have to hear all about it!
