We get up this morning and look for a bus out of Puerto Natales to Ushuaia. We don't have any luck, so we book for tomorrow and use today as a catch up day. Plus I wanted to try this Afrogonia restaurant that I read about. We ask Paulette if we can stay another night, she says no, even though we told her yesterday that we might need to stay another night and she nodded her head. She spoke decent English so I figured she understood. No worries though because our old hostel (Hostel Nancy) was available and much much much much much nicer. I love Hostel Nancy. The common areas are lite up with natural light, people socialize and laugh around big tables and comfy couches, the showers and bedrooms are clean and operational. I like it here, it feels more like a home.
I email the Aussie's and they are back from the trek. We meet up with them for supper and they show us their blisters. See the profile picture? Needless to say, they are HUGE! I guess that is the consequence for hiking the circuit in 6 days instead of 10. My chicken with zucchini dinner is excellent, but small portioned. Darren had a good size meal of steak and rice. The restaurant is quaint with just the right amount of decor including wooden carvings of African animals that are used as napkin holders. The African music plays in the background and when I look outside I watch the wind blow the trees to the music.
After our appetizer, main course, dessert and bottle of wine we walked back to the hostel with Ross and Hunter. As we walk and wait, Ross and Hunter limp with pride as they slowly hobble beside us. We go back to the hostel to share a bottle of wine that I left there before our trek and was still in the fridge when we returned. We share stories on the balcony of traveling and back home. As Darren and I gear into sleep mode, Ross and Hunter wake up. We became the old married couple as these two 20 year olds hobble to the bar and we go to bed. Tomorrow is an early day as we catch the bus first thing!
