Last weekend I went to Santiago for Lollapolooza! It was the first year that Lollapolooza was in Chile. We stayed at a hostel called La Casa Roja, which was really nice and even had a pool with a swim up bar.
On Friday I met up with Mackenzie in Santiago because her parents were visiting. Genna, Mackenzie, Rachel and I all went out for dinner and had the most delicious pizza ever. After that we met up with some other students to hit the town for the night!
Saturday we actually didn't have tickets for Lollapolooza so we went out for breakfast and had another amazing meal. We were all pretty excited because breakfast places are hard to find here. I had salmon benedict and just the thought of it makes my mouth water. After, we headed back to the hostel to lounge around the pool with a couple bottles of Chilean wine. Later on in the night we decided to try our luck at getting into the concert. We ended up "asking" our way into the concert… There was only about 2 hours left and they let us in! We saw the Killers and Fatboy Slim. It was incredible!
Sunday we got up and headed out for Lolla! There were six different stages; some were inside and some out. We spent the entire day and night there. In total we saw: 311, Sublime, Flaming Lips, Ghostland Observatory, Armin Van Buuren and Kanye West! They were all incredible, but my favorites where Ghostland and Kanye. We ended up making our way pretty close to the front of Kanye.
So of course my class schedule changed… AGAIN. I never imagined that getting all my classes in order would be such a pain. It's really difficult here because classes get cancelled, or change times or classrooms frequently. So one of my classes got cancelled, then it got changed to start in May, then that one got cancelled, and now it is offered again. HASSLE. So now I only have class Mondays and Fridays; starting in May I will have class on Thursdays as well.
Adding to that stress, two of my classes are only 22 hours or 1.47 credits. Added together that is 2.94 credits, and I need 3 to graduate. So I had to start a petition with the business school to use some of the dozens of excess credits I have to cover the 0.06 credit difference. So again… it's been a hassle.
My ELAP program is going GREAT! All the people that work there are so kind. I am getting to know each kids story and it's both interesting and depressing. I'm pretty sure that I wasn't supposed to take photos, but I snapped some anyways and put them up. I plan on adopting Jamie, Elias and Katherine; but just those three. :)
My parents come in less than two weeks! I am SOOO excited and have so many things planned already! Maybe even a trip to Argentina!
