Saturday 18th September
Last night Brianna cooked us a roast beef dinner with veg and gravy - it was DELICOUS! They are very into their sweet potatoes in Canada which I think in the UK they call a "Yam". We bought a chocolate tiger ice cream cake and butter scotch icecream for dessert. Bri wanted to cook us something we couldnt make living in the van so a roast was perfect!
After dinner we all went for a drink at Tommy's and Bri's flatmate Marie (who is a french Canadian with a perfect accent you would never pick up she was french) joined us after seeing Easy A at the Cinema which she rated a 9/10 so will have to watch that soon. Marie has lived in Banff for 5 years and does alot of the stuff we do back home. I got on with her really well. Mike and Beau then went to the Pump and Tap and Me, Bri and Marie went to The Gap. We played fussball and polished off a few "high balls" This i think was the only time i have not been withing 50m of Mike! The lads then joined us later along with one of Beau's work friends who spoilt a drink all down Mikes leg so he bought him another!
Before we even Brianna's house we had conusmed a whole bottle of vodka! I was a good night. We left at 12.00am after declining their sincere offer to sleep on their couch. We were all walking "home" past the fronsty cars on the way back and they felt sorry for us sleeping in the van when it is -5 degrees outside! Marie asked if we had decent sleeping bags - I think she said she had a really thick North face one that cost nearly $200. I told her wer bought our sleeping bags from Canadian Tyre for $8! She did not look impressed! I convinced her we would be fine and if it got too cold we we leave the van and come and sleep on their couch - such nice hospitality - I'm going to miss Banff and the people we have started to get to know..
