Bolivia top 5
1) Bolivia Tour: As stated in the blog the scenery from this tour was amazing! A main highlight and one of our favourite attractions within South America. This trip definitely will not be forgotten in a hurry; Especially the sights of the Colorado Lagoon (red lagoon), the Geysers and the Salt desert. So very beautiful.
2) Witches Market: The Llama foetuses made this the most weirdest market I have ever seen. Being a culture vulture I find traditions like these fascinating. I would have loved to have rooted about abit more in these stalls to uncover more strange artefacts, however the locals always give you the feeling that you have to buy something, so you never bother to avoid the hassle. This area made La Paz unique.
3) Food: At last we have food that contains spice and tables that have pepper pots! Bolivia is great for the variety of food and we are no longer living off just Steak, Cheese, Ham and Bread. Our diets have been transformed and I nearly went to heaven and back when I was presented with garlic bread as a free starter! The Llama dishes where particularly yummy and well worth trying.
4) Lake Titicaca: You cannot comprehend the size of this lake; It puts Lake Windemere to shame. Very beautiful and a great attraction. I just wish the locals looked after it abit more as I don't think they realise what they have. Abit of a tidy up and it's a winner as it has something for everyone and in the sunshine it was great to relax by and enjoy the view.
5) Plaza Murillo: You have got to love the pigeons! You can sit on this square and watch the children chasing the pigeons for hours. When feeding them yourself it also brings out that childish feeling whereas you want to run as fast as you can through them to create a pigeon tidal-wave. This square was lovely and we also found a great ice cream shop that made the biggest and tastiest ice cream sodas for a bargain £1.50! This is the place where you can easily sit and watch the world go by.
I wish we had more time in Bolivia as there was quite a few towns and tours that we missed which we would loved to have seen. This is a country we would revisit in an instant.
