Well we've just got back from Mana Island today as we fly to Auckland really early tomorrow morning. We had a great time on Mana. It's alot bigger than Robinson Cruseo so theres three hostels to choose from, we chose Ratu Kini hostel which turned out to be the best choice, not that im biased!! There were four beaches on the island so there was pleanty of sunbathing space. Needless to say our suntans are much improoved (as are the white patches!!). The days were spent sunbathing and curing the previous nights hangover, but the evenings were when the staff would entertain us. The first night we had a polenesian dance evening, where the men women and crossdressers who worked there put on a really good show. Then after a few Fiji Gold (or Fiji Bitter's in Holly's case) beers we had to get up and attempt to join in! That was a right sight! The second night was quiz night, we teamed up with a couple we'd met called Freda and Shaun and an ozzie called Damon, we came third but it was a close call. If it was just me and Hol im sure we would have done much worse though. The third night was Karaoke night, neither me or Hol entertained the crowd with our singing skills but pleanty did. There were some states there i tell you! We learnt alot while we were there though about the way Fijians live as our dorm was right in the centre of the village where the locals live. Once woman was telling us she earns 2 fijian dollars an hour, thats about 75pence. They work really long hours too always having to entertain the tourists. It opened my eyes especially as to how other cultures live, i mean we paid 6 dollars for a beer and we thought that was really cheap, and when you think thats 3 hours work for the staff it makes you think. Its true what they say though, Fijian people are the friendliest on earth, always smiling and laughing its infectious, i can't remember when i've felt so chilled out, I'm sad to go. However i am really exited for Auckland though, we've got two nights booked there and in that time were going to arrange how we will get around New Zealand, either by Magic Bus or Kiwi Experience. We will find out when we get there!
