Kia Ora everyone :-D Hope all is well where ever you are?
Um... where do we start today? The last 24 hours have been busy, and we're both still trying to wake up (adjusting to time difference still!) so will do our best to report on our adventures.
Last night we returned to our hotel to find a FREE glass of wine awaiting us, which we thought it only polite to enjoy in the beautiful garden. We do have pics, but we didn't bring the camera to the library today - will endeavor to get some on tomorrow. So we enjoyed a rather tasty glass before heading into the city centre to a scrummy Italian and had a pizza each... mmm...
Today, (Weds) we awoke at the crack of dawn (or, to be truthful, Nathan's alarm went off, we both groned and I fell back to sleep and left my lovely hubby to sort out everything/put kettle on etc etc. Managed to get up eventually but only once I was assured there was a cuppa right next to my pillow). We left our hotel at 04:40 (OUCH!) although we both felt ok as it would have been late afternoon at home. After an hours drive we parked up in a random field and had to set up a balloon - great fun and Nathan got stuck in with everything like an over excited child gone high on skittles and sleep deprivation. The two Kiwis, Geoff and CJ, had a very good sense of humour and continued to exploit Nathan's enthusiasm throughout the trip.
The balloon ride was amazing, unfortunately the weather wasn't as clear as yesterday so we didn't get to see the Alps, but it was a great panoramic nonetheless. The flight lasted for an hour, and we landed in a field of terrified sheep - our landing was exciting but nothing compared to the other balloon that came out with us (crash landing extrodinaire!) Then we had to help put the balloon away before having a celebratory glass of champers at 8am, great way to kick off our adventure :-)
Got back to hotel around 09:45, then decided we'd go for a wander. Ended up visiting an aquarium, botanical gardens (beautiful!) and the canterbury museum. All fantastic but we are knackered after early start and walking so much - just had a few hours kip to catch up with ourselves before coming out again.
So, we're going out now to find somewhere to eat. Nat fancies chinese, but fuss-pants Nathan don't know yet what he wants :-P Not got anything planned as yet for tomorrow but I'm sure we'll find something fun to do :-)
To be continued....
