After breakfast with traditional Maori toast (which strangely resembles French toast) we head for the town of Rotorua, where we visit a Maori village situated among hot-springs. The people living here use geothermal energy on a daily basis for the preparation of food, heating of their houses etc. It is very interesting, but I somehow doubt if it really is a very healthy living environment...
Anyway after a tour through the village we attend a Maori dance show, which is really cool. Some songs resemble songs you would rather expect to hear in Hawaii, but this is probably not that much of a coincidence since the roots of the original inhabitants are all Polinesian.
After lunch we all set out on our afternoon activities. Some people went rafting, I went to the 4WD experience. This was pretty spectacular and a lot of fun!
Dinner was a well deserved Rib Eye steakat Lone Star steak house. In the evening we had a pool/jaccuzi party as our hotelrooms had their own hotbath in the garden. Our record was 11 persons in one pool; we had a lot of fun!
