Since I last wrote this I have mostly been avoiding food, drink and stray dogs! Ever since the Inca Trail I've been sick, I think I ate something dodgy in Aguas Calientes and have been paying for it ever since! It´s so frustrating as the food here is amazing and I´ve not been able to eat it! But thanks to my lovely friend Caroline and a trip to the local pharmacy I am now on the road to recovery! So we haven´t done much since the Inca Trail, just been relaxing in the pretty town. Unfortunately I´ve not been able to experience the brilliant night life here or sample the local mojitos but Laura tells me they are delicious! We did find a really cool little bar near our hostel that has live music, we watched a band doing really bad Amy Winehouse covers the other night!! Cusco is a lovely city, but there´s lots of tourists, and you can´t walk down the street without being asked if you want a massage, manicure, pedicure, to buy some crap postcards or hats or popcorn from some kid who says he´s called Pablo Picasso. You can actually buy T-shirts here that say "no gracias" on them, and I´m quite tempted... We also saw some hilarious things on a shopping trip yesterday afternoon....we were in quite a posh shop (none of the usual tat!) and I noticed on the cashdesk you could buy a little wooden coffin with "RIP Osama" on the front, and a model of a dead Osama Bin Laden inside!!! I took a sneaky photo when the lady went out of the shop in the search of change (a common occurrence here as having a note larger than 20 soles is pretty much useless). Laura left today for her long journey back to England and I will leave Cusco tomorrow on a night bus to Copacabana, Lake Titicaca, to see what the wonders of Bolivia have to offer.xxx
