We got up early and got the bus to Queenstown, had a really nice group of people on the bus which is always good.
We first stopped at a place called puzzle world which has mazes and illusion rooms but me and Kat didnt bother going in as thought it was a bit of a waste of money as we can do that anywhere so we just got a drink and sat on the grass in the sun with a couple of others that didnt go in.
After this we went to arrowtown for lunch and spent about 1.5hrs there. It was really pretty, me and Kat went for a walk to a place where they filmed scenes from Lord of the Rings which was cool.
We then headed to Queenstown but on the way we stopped at the Kawarau Bridge bungy site which was the first ever comercial bungy in the world, started by AJ Hackett. We had a little tour then some people from the bus did the bungy.
Watching other people do it, it looked quite fun and I don't know what possesed me but I decided to book to jump the Nevis highwire which is the highest bungy in Australasia, 3rd highest in the world!! They were doing a special offer so for some strange reason I decided to do it tommorrow the 19th Jan.
After here we checked into our hostel, we arrived and Sandra and Beth from our original bus to Franz had told reception to book us into their room as there were spare beds so that was really nice to catch up with them.
We went out for dinner then met everyone from our bus in Altitude, the bar below the hostel. Had a few drinks then they announced they were doing a competition to win a free jump at nevis!! It was basically a horizontal bungy, they attached the bungy cord to you then you had to run to the other end of the pub and pick up a yard of ale that someone was holding and down it. The person that did it the fastest won!!
Kat had had a few drinks so decided to enter even though she didn't want to do the bungy. It was so funny, they had a seperate competition for girls and boys. The boys went 1st and Andreas from our bus won at 22 seconds then it was time for the girls. Kat was last to go and the quickest girl had done it in 21 seconds. She went for it and did it in 15seconds which is aparently the world record for girls and boys!!!
Now she was faced with a bit of a problem but beacause she was a bit tipsey she said she would do the bungy with me tommorrow!!
