So Friday has finally passed which means fellow PTer Anna Lind Ford has arrived!! I'm so glad she has come to Zithulele for the week, I haven't seen her since Cape Town in December which seems like years ago.
We started the weekend off with a trip to the cliffs for sundowners. The views were as stunning as ever - the sea was a bluey/purple colour and the sky pink and orange.
The next morning we headed off for the weekend at Bulungula. With our accommodation right on the beach we spent a lot of time in the sea. After eating ourselves sick on some traditional South African food - Babotie and for dessert we had Malva pudding. We played hours of our new favourite pass time, Banagrams and Cannibal Scrabble. I'm yet to win in either of the games but I am the first to admit I'm not the best speller in the world. In any case, no one stands a chance with both Anna and Christina playing.
On the way home we stopped off at a pancake restaurant (a rondavel on a hill with grass mats on the floor as tables). It was very quaint but using the term restaurant was probably quite ambitious. Nevertheless, my coconut curry pancake was marvellous. Polished off with a 'banana and caramel' sweet pancake.
The dirt road home was as interesting as ever:
I was having a lactose intolerance panic as the 'banana and caramel' pancake was in fact a banana and condensed milk pancake......
And Anna and Nadine had to ride in the back of the open top Buckie so by the time we arrived back to the house Anna looked like she had grey hair from all the dirt. They both looked like they hadn't had a shower for 12 months. But they took it in good spirit.
