Haha I think I am officially in LOVE with Nashville!! We had the best day ever today! The plan of action was to go to the country music hall of fame and Ryman Auditorium but we never actually got that far!
We went down to broadway this morning and started looking in all the shops...that began 4 hours of pure country shopping it was amazing! I spent an hour deciding which cowboy hat to buy...surreal! Then we went in little country merchandise stalls and spent ages looking around, bought a few bits and bobs but I managed to refrain myself a little bit! After that we went to pick up our All Access passes for the hall of fame but the guy said it shut in an hour and we needed at least 2 to look around properly so we decided to wait until tomorrow. We walked back down broadway and came to the Legend's Corner bar which is one of the most famous country bars in Nashville for live music. Their was a guy and his band performing in their so we went and sat down for 5 minutes (so we thought) to listen. His name was Buck McCoy and he was really good, if you squinted he didn't half look like Tim McGraw! haha.
Anyway we ended up staying there for about an hour and a half listening because it was really fun! At one point he was commenting on the fact that there were people in there from Scotland so I shouted 'WE'RE FROM ENGLAND' to which he replied 'You're mighty pretty, want to be on our album cover?' hahaha amazing that I got described as 'mighty pretty' by someone with a southern accent! Around 5 we went to a little bar for some dinner and as we were leaving we heard someone singing Taylor Swift back in Legend's Corner so we went back and it turns out the band had invited up at 13 year old girl with her guitar onto the stage because they'd seen her sitting with it in the crowd, she was well good! Then they got back and sang some more songs before finishing their set. After it we went to get our picture with them and they asked if we wanted to go for a drink so we did, it was well fun! Sounds dodgy, it wasn't though they were fine and we got to watch some cool blues band in Robert's Western World which is another famous live music bar here. Also being with the band was good because it meant I never got ID'd for bars (after 6pm under 21's aren't usually allowed, 6pm...how lame is that?!?!)
Oh wow also we got to be on Nashville TV!!! A national tv station was recording people's opinions on who they preferred, Elvis or Michael Jackson, and I stood their in my cowboy hat with my scouse accent talking a load of rubbish which they're no doubt going to edit out...but either way I may be on tv!! I did it all today! haha
We got the bus back about 9 to the hotel and now we're just sitting in the lobby on the internet! Absolutely amazing day I loved it! I really felt country hanging out with cowboys wow! Tomorrow we're actually going to do the tourist stuff and then hopefully head back to the bars in the night to blag our way in...they have live music all throughout the day though so it's not too bad but the night atmosphere is so good!
Anyway better go get some sleep now for an early start! Hope all is well at home, don't worry mum and dad we'll stay sensible and safe at the bars, we're cautious girls! Speak to you all soon!
