H!!
Our journey continues to Siem Reap Cambodia....
Our bus journey across the border was an experience, we both felt a bit like sheep as we practically followed what our driver told us and paid way over for our journey and our visa for cambodia but we didnt know any better until we got chatting to some other people on our bus and realised yet again that we had been scammed!! Once across the border after standing in the heat with our huge rucksacks filling out forms to get through passport control we realised that the bus we had paid for was not arriving for about 3 hours so we ended up paying again for a taxi to take us to our hostel, as the thought of standing for 3 hours in the heat after a hectic bus journey did not seem like fun!
After arriving late afternoon to our hostel we decided to just chill out in the garden and play cards....little did i know among the grass lay vicious bugs that were eating me alive......this I realised when I got back to our room and after Amy counting one leg and me the other in total I had 175 bites on my legs!!!! All we could do was just laugh!!!
The next day we went to Angkor Wat which was spectacular! We went for sunset and saw the sun go down on Angkor Wat which was beautiful. We then decided this was a once in a lifetime chance to get up at sunrise and see Angkor Wat at sunrise. We got up at 4.30 (which is a first for me to go sightseeing at this time) to see sunrise.....it was beautiful to see and we got some good photos! The rest of the morning we spent looking around the other temples in Angkor Wat which ended up being the best time of the day to see them as it was nice and cool and we were the only tourists around at one point! The funniest part however was when we were walking along and suddenly a group of chinease tourists were all pointing at my legs saying "awwwww a mosquito bite you". We did find it hilarious that at one of the most ancient wonders of the world and biggest tourist attractions all that the chinease tourists were interested in was my legs!!!!!!!! (luckily writing this now they are healing quite well)!
Today we went to the Angkor museum to find out some more about Angkor Wat.....there was a lot of information to take in but I hope that I am slightly more cultured about Angkor Wat and what it is all about!
Tonight we are moving on to Sihanoukville which is on the coast were we are hoping to find some parties on the beach and maybe some more bucket fun after our sightseeing few days!
Hope everyone is well. Love lots Hannah x

dorothy bowling This all sounds amazing. Glad the legs are getting better. Are you still going to Phnom Penn? I think you need a few days sunbathing to recover from a 4.30 start! Hannah..... museum!!!! What is that all about. This has to be a first. I am very impressed! xxx

Janet Perhaps you'll be immune to mozzies now after all that! Enjoy your next stage- the coast. Nice and refreshing after the cities.

Heather It all sounds amazing!! I can't believe you're there to be honest. You're a lot more adventurous than me I don't think I could go out there. I'll stick to short breaks in Europe and America. Have an amazing time! Be careful. Hope we can catch up sometime when you're back. Lots of lv Heather : ) x
