First overnight train where we didn't have to get off the train which was so good!! The passport stampers were on the train so came around and stamped them YAY
Got into Belgrade around 7am and struggled up 5 flights of stairs with my backpack and impending throat cold because the lift was out of order. Sigh! Went to the supermarket and got edible goods ( :) ) and hung out at the hostel cos it was a really cool one, we watched the Sex and the City movie
29th: Me, Luce and Kerri (girl from our hostel) went walking around town and went to fruit markets (!!) and walked up to the Fortress. There was this guy lying down on a bench listening to his ipod and I could hear that it was Molitva, the Serbian song which one Eurovision in 2007!! So good :D And then a dog went up and licked his ear which was funny cos he was sleeping so he bolted up and then started laughing. There were heaps of tanks around the Fortress.
Back at the hostel I began to cook my first ever independent dinner... scary!!! I bought mince at the markets and got flavouring sachets from the supermarket hoping that one of them would be like nacho flavouring, unfortunately they were in Serbian so I really just had to go off the pictures... and I ended up being completely wrong, one of them was uncracked peppers, another was a pasta soup... and i don't remember any others. So I mixed in some of Lucy's basilico pasta sauce and put in some herbs and mixed it through the pasta. Not too bad ...
Watched some Friends on Luan's computer (Luan being the freak who speaks 6 languages fluenly!!As well as another 4 or 5 almost fluently. Woah!!! he works at the hostel, he was fun!)
30th: Got up early due to the snore-o-master in our room. Sigh! Then headed out on a quest to find the Sveti Sava, a giant and beautiful church unfortunately under loud construction at the moment, Then got a bit lost of the way to Sveti Marco, but it didn't matter cos it's such a pretty city we liked wandering anyway. Then we tried to find the street which has cool paintings on the walls of all the buildings, but it started raining so we went back to the hostel.
One time I asked Luan something and he started speed talking in a language I couldn't understand, and I thought 'my god, I've lost the ability to understand the only one language I know!' and he shook his head and spoke in English, cos he'd just been talking to someone on the phone in German and answered me like that! Me and Luce laughed at him a lot. I guess that's gotta happen sometimes when you talk sooo many languages. Then off to the train station to Budapest ...
