When we arrived in Jaipur I was feeling a little worse for wear due to another bout of upset stomach – cue Immodium and antibiotics. I soldiered on like a trooper and luckily we found a Pizza Hut for dinner – back of the net. Boy was I disappointed with Indian Pizza Hut and Hannah was close to tears, I mean to say they're stingy on the pizza sizes is an understatement! My pizza was basically 4 minuscule, almost mouth sized slices which wouldn't of even passed as a child’s portion in the UK. I left unhappy. As we were only staying for 1 full day in Jaipur we decided to go on an organised tour the next day in order to see everything in one go. It was okay, highlights were a massive sun dial which was accurate to within 2 seconds (yeah right) and getting to go out of the city onto a big hill fort containing the biggest cannon in the world. Low points were being forced to sit in a camel leather shop whilst the great grandson of the oldest man in India (that is honestly one of their selling points) tried to convince us that we really did need a pair of camel leather flip flops. We tried to escape but quickly got diverted to other leather paraphernalia.
Not long after the camel leather incident we decided that we'd probably had enough of seeing Palaces, Forts, Mosques and Temples for a while. They were all pretty much the same. Obviously there will be exceptions but we'd decided that some chill out time was now required, particularly as my stomach was seemingly allergic to India! Luckily our next stop was Pushkar which is known for just that.
Love Tom and Hannah xxxx
