So we went to Frasier Island, and it wasnt the Island paradise I was really expecting! The day before we left it looked like we might get some rain, so we went and bought some rain coats, not really expecting to get much use out of them, after all we are in Queensland- 'the sunshine state', 'great one day, perfect the next'!! Well it absolutely pissed it down, the rain just didnt stop, it was continuous. Also the tents they gave us were not waterproof, so you basicly woke up in the morning in a puddle!
We did have fun though, and the group we were with were really nice. There were loads of German guys and they just drank the whole time, they were so funny. So we drove around Frasier Island in the rain, in the dodgyest 4x4 eva, and then in the evening drank loads of wine. On the first night Andy got a leach on his leg, it was really funny, but also a bit gross!
So anyway, on day two I woke up freezing cold, soaking wet and very hungover, and decided that Frasier Island wasnt for me and managed to get a lift back to Harvey bay- thank god! I left Andy on the Island, and when he returned a day later he had cuts all down the side of his leg, he said that he was sitting on a rock trying to take a photo of the waves, when a big wave came and washed him off- what a doughnut!
So after all the rain on Frasier, we headed for Airlie Beach ready for our Whitsundays sailing trip. The first night we stayed in the worst Campsite, there were massive green ants everywhere, I didnt even know that you could get green Ants!!! And I also trod on a frog, it was all slimy, and then when I had a shower the next day there was a frog in the shower! I couldnt cope with all the beasties, so I made Andy move us to a nicer campsite!
We met loads of cool people in Airlie Beach, and we saw most of the poeple from the Frasier Island trip aswell there, which was really cool. Unfortunalty though the weather still wasnt really getting any better, and it basicly rained for the whole of our sailing trip : ( it was still really good fun though, and we did a bit of snorkling, the fish were huge, and really colourful. The sea was so ruff though on the second day that I was sick over the side of the boat- yuk, but afterwards I felt a lot better : )
We are now in Cairns and finally the sun has come out, so today we have been doing some sunbathing! On Thursday we are going to Singapore, we are both really excitted and cant wait!
