After about a 3 hour drive arrived in the Netherlands has been raining all the way so far - very flat country with paddocks of cows everywhere, and also energy windmills. Stopped off in Edam (cheese named after the town) and went for a bike ride along the canals (where the bikes were an older model like what we had as kids very dodgy bikes with no gears and peddle brakes, reminded us of learning how to ride a bike again ). After Edam we stopped off at a cheese and clog making place and had a talk on how cheese is made, and had a demonstration on clog making. After arriving in Amsterdam city and having tea we went into the city and had a quick walk around including the red light district and skinny street - which was a real eye opener. After there we went to a local show and managed to be in the front row - what an experience we will not forget especially Lisa!!
