Had a bit of a sleep in before heading into the city for a paddle on the canals in a 4 person paddle boat. Was meant to take us about 45 - 60 minutes but we got lost (poorly signposted) so took us about 2 hours on the scenic route also having a near run with a tour boat on the main canal. Got off at the Anne frank house so had a look through there, had no furniture but still amazing that they managed to hide in the attic (was three stories) for so long. Walked around the main shopping streets, flower market and had pancakes for lunch. Had an hour cruise along the canals which some sites looked very similar to those we saw on our journey this morning before heading to a floating Chinese restaurant for tea. Amsterdam has 700,000 people but 1 million bikes, of which they find 20,000 in the canals each year in an annual dredging exercise. They don't have huge amounts of land so have to build up and close together.
