I Honestly am speechless about this weekend.
As many of you already know, I LOVE MUSIC FESTIVALS! So this weekend was one of my favorites here in Ireland. On Thursday, Jordan, Liam, and I traveled on the City Link bus to Dublin Ireland. We packed a few small backpacks, snacks, and some awesome concert gear and headed to the Abigail's Hostel. It is a two and a half hour long bus ride to Dublin, but it goes pretty quick with some good friends, great conversation, and awesome tunes in your ear! After arriving at our place to stay for the night, we wandered the streets of Dublin. Dublin is such a beautiful city, but not as authentic as Galway seems to be. There is a river that runs along its two main streets, and the city is covered with tons of shops and a few castles. How weird to go from shop to shop, and then all of a sudden there is a castle between a few! After exploring, we went to bed early in order to be well rested for Oxygen Music Festival.
As we were tucking ourselves in, a man from… who knows where… walked into our hostel for 6 people. Seeing how there were only 3 of us…. we figured more were going to sleep there… but there was no evidence. Jordan made her bed earlier in the day…. But turns out her bed was already made and used! When the strange man walked into the room, and found his bed had been changed a little, we all were very surprised! He seemed a bit angry. But it was just a funny mistake!
We woke up early on Friday and began partying. I of course had my favorite drink…. Bulmer's. After some pre partying, we headed to the bus to take us to Punchestown Ireland, where Oxygen is held. On the bus we met a famous Dj from Germany, one of the guys from Weezer brother, and some many nice new friends. The bus was about an hour a half long bus ride… but it seemed short. I got a good laugh as Liam… because he really had to use the bathroom… and it reminded me of all the funny stories I have in a car and when I needed to find one with my family!
When we got off the bus to head into the festival, my adrenaline was pumping. To see all of the stages and interesting concert gear made me feel right at home. Jordan and I looked perfect for the event with our neon gear and glitter. After arriving, Jordan bought me a beautiful flowered headband to go with my hippy look. We took a million pictures with our new concert gear on and smiles bigger then you can imagine! The fields were covered with mud… but that of course didn't stop us from dancing the day and night away!
We first saw Example, then headed to other stages to see Left Field, The Script, and Black Eyed Peas! I loved Example because I danced really hard with my friends by my side…. But Black Eyed Peas rocked the end of the day away!
The next morning was a bit rough but it didn't stop Jordan and I from shopping! We walked to find some cool new boots along with some amazing clothing from my favorite store here in Ireland, Penny's! While Jordan was trying on her clothes, I realized my receipt for the Hostel said to be checked out at 10:30 (IT WAS 1:30!) So we ran as quick as possible back to the place, woke Liam's sleepy ass up, and ran out the door as quick as lighting. No worries…. We handled the situation well!
On Saturday, Liam made me a pasta dinner… which I still cannot get off of my mind! It had chicken, tomatoes, and spinach. All my favorite foods! After dinner he took me on a walk down the river by the University. It was such a quiet peaceful night and we really both enjoyed each other's company. Also on Saturday, Liam's roommate, P.K., had a few friends over. He is from India, and his friends were from France. Under that roof that night, was a room full of diversity and conversations full of beautiful languages!
On Sunday, Jordan and I had an education trip to the Aran Island. What a beautiful place! It is a mix of land, animals, cliffs, and the blue ocean. On arriving to the island you must take an hour-long bus ride, and then an hour-long ferry ride. It was such a fun boat ride with the wind in our hair, and they sky nothing but blue. In order to explore the island, it is best to do it by bike. It was nice to get some good exercise in, but my butt is so sore today! Jordan and I got lost from our tour and ending up discovering our own fun riding around on the bikes (like we typically do!) We saw beautiful white stallions, cows, gigantic waves, and met people from everywhere!
All and all the weekend was perfect. Music truly does make the world go round, but friends and family is what makes the ride worthwhile!
