In Costa Rica there's so many people to meet, whether they speak German, Spanish or really any language, even if you can't understand them there's always ways to have fun. We meet endless people on the street, and it's a always a coincidence. Once Levi and Noah spotted a crashed bike, meanwhile this guy was coming up the dirt road of Santa Teresa, and he saw my brothers pointing at the bike. He asked us if it was an animal and we said no, and that startad the conversation, the man happened to be selling fish he had caught himself, he told us that it was smoked for nine hours. Levi loves fishing, and eating fish so he was pretty interested in the guy, the man had a little boy in a little seat in the back of his bike, the man said he was from Sweden. Him and my mom talked for a while, in their conversation mom found out that the man went fishing every morning and that kids could go for pay. Another time we met a girl named Shiley and her father at the beach, Shiley and her father were Italian, also Shileys father owned Denga Surf Shop. Shiley is seven years old, she speaks Italian, Spanish, and English. We see Shirley and her family on the streets, and at the beach all the time, and a lot of times we invite them to come swimming. One day we met a family from Switzerland, there was two kids and a mom and dad, unfortunately the kids only spoke Dutch German, but fortunately the parents spoke English. We played in our pool with the family, it was very interesting because we had to kinda act things out to communicate with the children, but sometimes the kids mom would translate things like the rules of games we like to play in the pool. One day when we were playing at the beach with Shirley, when it was time to leave the beach Shirley wanted to show us her new baby cat. On our way to Shirley's house we ran into the family from Switzerland, my mom invited the family over for swimming at our house. We told the Swiss family that we were going to look at Shirley's cat and they decided to come and see the cat to. Shirley's cat was so cute, the little kitten was so small. I got to hold the kitten. I held it with a blanket because it felt safer in the blanket, and because I was afraid of getting scratched. After we adored the little kitten, us Shiley and the Swiss family all went over to our house to go swimming. At one point we were all on the sinking long board all of our weight pushed the board down. Soon we were all hungry, so mom made two batches of popcorn, one of the batches was butter and salt and the other batch was my mom's yummy caramel popcorn. The previous time the Swiss family came to swim we taught them a game we loved to play in the pool called Sharkey, Sharkey is when one person is the shark, and the rest of the people are fish, the fish can swim across the pool whenever they want, when a fish swims the shark tries to tag them, if the shark tags them the shark becomes a fish and the fish that the shark tagged becomes the new shark. Shiley left shortly after our game, the Swiss family stayed though. The oldest kid in the Swiss family is Finn and the other kid is named Layola. Finn is 10 years old and Layola is 8 years old. Finn and Layola's dad came soon after Shiley left, he brought bread and bananas. We ate bread and bananas for a little snack, then we got back in the pool. After we did a little bit more swimming we got out of the pool and drew. It was cool cause we don't speak German, but we can understand the pictures they make, Loyola drew a lion and I understood that it was a lion even though I don't speak her language. Loyola gave me the picture of the lion and I hung it up in me and my three brothers room.
Like I mentioned in my After School program entry, we met a man named Luke, and became very good friends with him, Luke is from Florida. Luke volunteered for the after school program. We loved having him for dinner all the time, it seemed like he came to our house every day. My dad surfed with him a lot in the mornings, and when they were done surfing he came over and watched the Go Pro videos they just recorded.
On the first day I had at the after school program the lady who owned the school introduced me to a girl named Sophie. Sophie has a little sister named Savanna, Savanna's nick name is Sabby, so that's the name I'm going to use. My mom got on Facebook with Sophie and Sabby's mom, so they could keep in touch. (I forgot to mention, Sophie is seven and Sabby is four). One day Sophie and Sabby came to our house, they brought us pizza and pastries. Sophie played in the pool with us for a while, then we ate the pizza and pastries. They came another time to, that time we swam for a while, then we ate pumpkin chocolate chip bars that my mom made.
