Nev and Patsyanns’ Round The World Trip 2006/7Berlin
May 22nd Berlin Got to Berlin after 5and a half hours on the train. Guess what it’s pissing down! Hostel is good but feel about 100 yrs old everyone here is so young went and found a bar patsyann wearing shorts it rains again. Went to an Irish bar met some lads from Liverpool doing a pub quiz. If they didn’t know a answer they would put David Hasslehoff. Apparently he is huge over in Germany. WHY! These lads were not your typical scouser’s (they all had a job) two were programmers and two worked for the home office. May 23rdWent to the Brandenburg gate and crossed from the east to the west felt weird to be able to do this after all the history this place has had. Cooked dinner at the hostel drank to much red wine from Aldis 1.79euros a bottle ………Got two! Bargain.
May 24thWent on the berlin underground to find where we have to catch the train for Padderborn on Friday. Patsyann has blisters on her feet from all the walking we have been doing in the last 7 days. Found a Sony place where they show the latest films in English “the da vinci code” is on at 7.30pm. so guess where we’re going tonight.
May 25th Went to visit one of the first concentration camps that were set up during WW2 it poured with rain which was kind of fitting for the place we were in. It was awful but really makes you wonder what kind of human beings we are capable of being. When we got back Patsyann stayed in the shower for 20mins trying to get warm. It’s still raining. Went out for a curry then had an early night.
